This month we’re proud to be supporting our purpose partner Rewilding Britain, alongside our friends at trundl, in a 22-day sponsored walk to help rewild landscapes across the UK.

Through our 1% for the Planet commitment, we’re helping fund vital rewilding projects that not only restore ecosystems but reconnect people with the natural world. Together, trundlrs are walking 7,000 km – one step at a time – for nature, communities and climate.

Why Rewilding Matters

Britain is one of the world’s most nature-depleted countries. Over half of UK species are in decline, and 15% are at risk of extinction. Rewilding Britain is working to change that, with a bold mission: to see 30% of Britain’s land and seas rewilding by 2030.

Rewilding goes beyond traditional conservation. Instead of simply protecting what remains, it helps nature recover at scale – creating the conditions for ecosystems to restore themselves. The results are powerful: richer biodiversity, cleaner air and water, healthier soils, more resilient communities, and increased carbon storage.

How Rewilding Britain is making a difference

Rewilding Britain’s Rewilding Network connects landowners, NGOs, farmers and communities to share knowledge, access funding, and scale up impact. Their Innovation Fund has already supported 70+ projects across the UK – from reintroducing native species like storks and beavers, to restoring marine habitats and creating urban green spaces such as Allestree Park in Derby.

These projects prove that when people and nature work together, both can thrive. Community-led rewilding not only restores wildlife but also supports local economies and mental wellbeing – showing that a healthy environment underpins a healthy society.

Walking the Talk: the sponsored trundl

The trundl for Rewilding Britain challenge is about more than distance covered. It’s about connection – between people, places and purpose.

Over 22 days, walkers across the country will help raise funds for Rewilding Britain’s projects simply by logging their kilometres on the trundl app. For every step taken, donations will go toward restoring natural habitats, reintroducing keystone species, and empowering communities to take climate action locally.

As part of our 1% for the Planet pledge, we’re proud to co-fund this initiative and join a movement that’s bringing landscapes back to life.
