My background

I’m a Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years’ experience supporting owner-managed and growing businesses with their financial, commercial and strategic development.

I spent the early part of my career working in financial audit within a Big Four firm, primarily supporting FTSE-listed and other large corporate organisations. During the second half of my career, my focus has shifted towards supporting SMEs across a broad spectrum of financial, commercial and strategic areas, helping business owners and leadership teams improve performance, strengthen decision-making and navigate periods of growth and change.

Throughout my career, I have worked closely with boards and senior leadership teams, providing the type of support traditionally associated with a Finance Director or Chief Financial Officer. This includes financial planning and forecasting, cash flow management, performance reporting, business modelling, risk management, systems and process improvement, and supporting significant periods of change or growth.

I am particularly passionate about making financial information accessible and useful. Good finance support is not simply about producing accurate numbers; it is about helping people understand what those numbers mean, identifying the actions that need to be taken and giving leaders the confidence to make informed decisions.

As a Non-Executive Director at AG Impact, my focus is on providing financial and commercial challenge, helping the business plan for sustainable growth and ensuring that its financial strategy, reporting and decision-making continue to evolve alongside its wider ambitions.

What I enjoy most about my work

I enjoy getting underneath how a business really operates, understanding what its leaders are trying to achieve and helping to turn those ambitions into a practical and financially sustainable plan.

The most rewarding part of my work is seeing finance become an enabler rather than a barrier. By providing clarity, structure and constructive challenge, I can help leadership teams focus their time and energy on the decisions that will make the greatest difference.

I also enjoy working collaboratively. The best outcomes come from bringing together financial insight, operational knowledge and the experience of the wider team, rather than finance operating in isolation.

My hope for the future

My hope is that more organisations will recognise that strong financial performance and positive social and environmental impact do not need to be competing priorities.

Businesses that understand their purpose, make responsible decisions and invest in the right people, systems and structures are better placed to create sustainable long-term value.

I want to support organisations in building financial resilience while continuing to challenge traditional definitions of success, looking beyond short-term financial results to the wider impact they have on their people, communities and the environment.

What I love about AG Impact

What stands out to me about AG Impact is the authenticity of its purpose. Positive impact is not something added to the business as a separate initiative; it is central to the work the team does, the clients it chooses to support and the way the organisation itself operates.

AG Impact has an ambitious and talented team, a clear set of values and a genuine desire to help other organisations create meaningful and lasting change.

It is exciting to be involved at a point where the business is building on strong foundations and looking ahead to its next stage of growth and development.

How does working for AG Impact support you?

Working with AG Impact gives me the opportunity to contribute my financial and commercial experience to a business whose purpose and values I genuinely believe in.

It allows me to work alongside an experienced board and leadership team, combining different perspectives to support the business as it grows, develops its services and increases its impact.

I value the opportunity to challenge thinking, bring financial clarity to strategic discussions and help ensure that AG Impact has the financial insight, resilience and infrastructure needed to achieve its long-term ambitions.

I believe the role of a great Finance Director or CFO is not simply to report what has already happened, but to help a business understand what could happen next and make confident decisions about how to get there.
